To be perfectly honest i'm not blown away by what I have seen of Assassin's Creed so far. Anything new they have shown recently doesn't look that different from what we have seen last year.

Bioshock. This game has impressed me so much withits pre-release media, that I'll buy it regardless of reviews. Metroid Prime 3. The first Prime is one of my favorite games, and the first person controls seem to be shaping up extremely well. Must buy. Halo 3. I've played the others, and this is the last in the trilogy. Even if other games are impressing me much more than Halo 3, at this time, it's still a must play. Super Smash Bros. Brawl. No explanation needed for this one, me thinks. --Maybe list: Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, Phantom Hour Glass, Mass Effect.

Take all of those, then add Burnout Paradise, Army of Two, DMC4, Brothers in Arms Hells Highway, Stranglehold, Medal of Honor Airborne, Quake Wars, Left 4 Dead, Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Athena, and Fear Files ..... and you'll have a list close to my wallet-shattering list. :PTheres others I'm keeping a close eye on to see how they do as well. Including Blacksite: Area 51, Two Worlds, Soul Calibur 4, NFS: Pro Streetand Timeshift.Thank God so many titles like GTA4, Splinter cell: Conviction, Turok, Haze, UT3, Too Human, Alan Wake, etc. have been pushed into Early 2008. My poor bank account can't handle all of the goodness this year has to offer.Do Live Arcade titles count too? Because I have a pretty impressive list of XBLA titles I want as well.

Should developers support the Mac?

I don't. Now don't get me wrong, I was raised on Macs and I appreciate giving mac users a greater choice of games. But there are two main reasons why I think the Mac should not be getting more support from developers and publishers.1) Increased cost of gamesDeveloping for an additional platform like the Mac is going to push up developers' costs and publishers are going to have to pass on these costs to their customers. It doesn't seem likely that they will recoup their investment, given the small userbase of the Mac (compared to the PC and consoles)Why should we have to pay more when games are already pretty expensive?2) Decreased quality of gamesMacs have limited upgradeability with their hardware (you can't change the CPU or the graphics chipset, unless you own a top of the line Mac and how many people do?) and this will affect the quality of games being developed. If a Mac title is being developed at the same time as the PC, the game will have decreased graphics, a weaker engine etc to allow Macs with their inferior hardware (have you seen the spec on an iMac?) to run it. If the Mac platform had the same level of flexibility as the PC, then this wouldn't be a problem. What are your thoughts?Should developers support the Mac?
Mac should support the developers...simple as that. For instance, having upgrade options for your mac etc.Should developers support the Mac?
I highly doubt developing for the Mac will increase cost overall, otherwise developers would not bother doing it in the first place. There's a large Mac userbase and I'm sure devs would like to target it. Can you provide any examples where developing on a Mac has increased the cost of games? Off the top of my head, I know Quake 4, Call of Duty 2 and World of Warcraft are all available for Mac, and the cost of the game was not changed in any way. Also, for point #2 - see Rage. There was a live demo being run on a Mac right beside the PC version and they looked exactly the same.So all in all, I see no downsides to developing for a Mac. If a developer wants to increase their userbase, why not? I highly doubt it will negatively impact the versions on other platforms as you seem to expect.
No game that has ever been developed for a mac have had it's quality reduced. In fact most of them run more stable, Unreal Tourny and WoW are fine examples of this at least for myself. I highly doubt it would raise the cost of production or otherwise console developers would stick to only one platform. And inferior hardware? Geeks will always be geeks and have something powerful in their hands, mainstream users and majority of users wether it's PC or Mac don't have the latest technologies and developers always have that in mind. I have a new Macbook Pro and runs OSX and Windows faster than any machine I've had, it doesn't have the latest video card, but it will last me a couple of years and I'm sure it will run Gears of Wars and Unreal Tournament 3 just as good as any PC, PS3 or Xbox outthere.
If people want to play games on a computer, just get Windows. Seriously.Feel free to flame me. :)
i wanna know what mac is gunna do about direct x 10. some say you wont need for a long time and i can agree with that. but i really want crysis on direct x 10!!!
Why sould Mac owners be left out of the loop? I say let them play games!
i wanna know what mac is gunna do about direct x 10. some say you wont need for a long time and i can agree with that. but i really want crysis on direct x 10!!!
Developers would have to port it over to OpenGL and user whatever else is required to port the sound and controls. I'd like to see more support for the Macs. Sure they may be a bit more limited, but so is the Wii - compared to the 360 and PS3 - and devs have been able to pull off some pretty decent-looking titles on it.

Does anyone know what a prp product purchase is?

I went to Eb games and bought a wireless mike for my 360. Somehow I ended up buying a prp product purchase too. It cost like 9.99. and I feel ripped. What is it exactly? Warrantly? Mail-in rebate? What???Does anyone know what a prp product purchase is?
From my understanding, a prp is a product replacement plan, which I think means that if your product gets damaged within a certain date, they'll replace it for you without charge. Personally, I think it's a scam ( with the exception of the 360 of course).

  • Do You Collect Gaming Systems?

I have a Magnivox Odyssey (1972) gaming system for sale on ebay now!

thisis a random thread....Probably shouldn't have posted it in theGeneral GamessectionDo You Collect Gaming Systems?
o_0...?its general, bout anything that hasto do with video gameswhere else should i post it?
[This message was deleted at the request of the original poster]
I wanted to but I don't have enough money to get every system and a lot of the good games. Maybe when I'm older but not now.
That thing looks extremely odd. I'd be interested to see how it plays. I consider myself a collector of sorts mainly because i don't flog games or systems but I wouldn't actively buy something I didn't want to play for the sake of my collection.
its actually pretty intrestingyou have this big TV ''screens'' and you put it over your tv, and little lights correspond to the picture and you play the gameand some games have cards you play withits cool

What's the best NFL Blitz game?

I remember playing the original NFL Blitz for PS1/N64 and being totally addicted. I was thinking about picking up a copy but then I realized that there have been half a dozen Blitz games released since then. I was wondering if it would be best to stick to the original or if the sequels have improved at all? Is The League any good? Which ONE is the most entertaining that I should buy? What's the best NFL Blitz game?
Blitz the League is the bestmock sports game since NHL Hitz 2003. Not having the NFL names really helped it to become a good game all on its own. Unfortunatly its not as deep as a Madden or sK sports game with options but it's pretty damn fun.the 360 version doesn't offer too much more than the regular last gen version but it should be pretty cheap to pick up by now
