My 360 is now in its coffin, on a happy trip to slumberland. Thing is, unless you put your 360 inside the freezer, nothing will prevent it from overheating, because that's a result of bad hardware design. Will putting a mini electric fan near an xbox 360 work?
i have a 360 and bought and the intercooler which attachs to the back of the console with 3 minifans on it and it helped tremendously
The 360 already makes enough noise by itself there no need to add another fan unless your want tohave a supersonic jet in your basement. The warranty has been extended. If the console dies because of the the heat you will see the 3 rings of death (between 1 to 4 red lights depending of the broken piece) and you will be able to get it repaired for free. You should be concerned about the DVD driver instead. Because it's one of the2 worst DVD drives ever (only the original xbox DVD drive beats it) and it is not covered by the warranty past the first year. So don't play DVD on that only games.
yea... i was thinking about buying that but i read on the internet that itcauses problems for it...click the linkhttp://crunchgear.com/2006/10/27/nykos-intercooler-causes-problems-for-xbox-360/
i bought my xbox used 5 days ago from a friend, he told me he bought it brand new some time last year around july 2006. i dont have a recipt for it, butif it does go crazy on me one day, can i still repair it for free?
I dont know about that but it would be alot easier to just buy a fan for the 360 for like 20 bucks.

yes you can. i got mine used with no receipt and got it fixed for free. just make sure it's been registered.
yeah it wont help completely... there is no avoiding the dying. but it might help prolonge it.
