Atleast we are going to get a second season of Sam and Max...point n click adventures, sadly missed
Yeah, that genre is sorely missed by me. My childhood gaming mostly consisted of that type of games... King's Quest, Quest for Glory, Torin's Passage, Goblins, the list goes on. It's almost sad now that i think about it. I suppose that nowadays people expect more freedom of choice and open-endness and that point'n'click games simply didn't have that level of freedom. Allthough today, with these lessons in mind, maybe point'n'clock could be made more free. Who knows?
I'm hoping the Wii brings this genre back to life. I would love to see some Quest for Glory Wii-makes.
Freddy fish I miss him :(
How about point'n'clicks where you had to type all the actions? Remember the good old days of ''Sorry, this program is too stupid to understand you, please try again''?I would love to see a resurrection of classic point'n'click adventure games, but the mass market is too highly comprised of twitchy children and adults that only play WWII games for them to gain any major backing. There are still lots of independant games along those classic lines, though.
Well on a more optimistic note they are making a come back of sorts on the DS. There are quite a few very good games in the genre released already like Phoenix Wright, Hotel Dusk, Professor Layton, Death Note etc. If there proves to be a significan audience (which seems to be the case so far) then there will be more of them. The touch-screen interface and the relatively cheap production costs make the DS the ideal platform for such games
You guys should try Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtleit has amazing graphics, funky story, cool characters and totally old school
Try out this website. It's got a crapload of point and click, as well as command-typing, adventure games. Even though they are all made with a downloadable program that a lot of people download from the site, most of them are quite good. Highly recommended if you're looking for an old school-type adventure game;)
