Non-elite HDMI 360 already in stores

This is good news.  I would assume these must be Falcons, but who knows... the boxes aren't any different from the 90nm models.Non-elite HDMI 360 already in stores
I'm guessing that Microsoft has been quiet about this release because they still want to move their old stock.
Let's face it... the new 360 is much more desireable than the old one... and it has the same price tag.Non-elite HDMI 360 already in stores

That's interesting. Extremely good news for people thinking about buying one soon (in case they really do have the new 65 nm chips).
I find it really strange that Microsoft hasn't said anything about this and that the boxes themselves don't mention the HDMI port. How are you supposed to know if the system you're buying has it or doesn't have it?
MS is confirming this now.

Why don't MS just release a HDMI cable ? I mean i wont buy another 360 just to get HDMI output.
See? My rumor thread was confirmed true, after all. :P

Sorry, I thought it warranted a new thread... I am hoping someone has the guts, nay, the balls to open up one of these things to confirm whether or not it is a 65nm... This could just as easily be the Zephyr setup from the Elite instead of the Falcon.  I mostly just want to know if it is safe to ''jump in'' again.

I completely agree with you about a new thread needed. I'm just messing with you. :PI think it's way to early to expect a batch of 360s with revamped innards, but I believe that more sooner than later, we will see the first one eviscerated on some godforsaken blog to show if this is the real deal or not.
Why don't MS just release a HDMI cable ? I mean i wont buy another 360 just to get HDMI output.
Microsoft can't just release a cheap adaptor to convert analog video (component, VGA) into digital video (HDMI/DVI). It requires wiring a brand new port into the Xbox 360s video card.
It's a wonder to me what benefit could come to them without announcing this beforehand.

The other problem would be that you would need a seperate audio cable.
Cool. I had thought that the HDMI port (and the color scheme) were going to be what separated the Halo 3 edition of the X360 from the Premium. It appears that the only thing separating them is 50 bucks and the Halo name. It will be interesting to see how well it sells...Finally, Microsoft revealed the pricing of the fourth Xbox 360 bundle: the Halo 3 Special Edition console. Arriving in September with a Spartan green-and-gold color scheme, the system will sell for $399.99. It will include an HDMI-capable system, a wireless controller, a headset, a 20GB hard drive, and a play-and-charge kit. Halo 3 will be sold separately. http://www.gamespot.com/news/6176300.html?om_act=convert%26om_clk=newstop%26tag=newstop;title;7
