Getting a little pissed off.

I always seem to be in a bind. I always seem to have trouble making up my mind with things....I have a fairly good gaming PC....But these upgrades are really starting to piss me off. I got a dual core processer last year (September 2006) now quad core processers are out....Spend so much money then it gets outdated...Honestly How much would a video card, stick of ram, processer, motherboard and all of the main stuff cost? Would it be more than a 360? Im thinking about getting a 360....But i dont know if im gonna get bored of it and play Pc...But upgrades for Pc are making me angry..I dont know what to do.I dont want to do both, to much money.I hate it that..ohhh u gotta have a 64 bit processer to play the game ooohhhhh dx10 graphics card 500$ and it will last about a year!!!!!!! Getting a little pissed off.
Ask yourself, what are you trying to accomplish? Getting updated? That goal will never work. How about you look at A game you really like and look if you can run it there.Happiness is not a destination, it is a journey.Getting a little pissed off.

Keeping up with that is a car a year (cheap car, but a car). What I usually do is wait for that one PC game that makes me REALLY (not just midly interesting or even strong interest, one of those I HAVE TO GET THAT FREAKING GAME kind of thing) want to get it and make a high end PC when that game comes out. That usually holds me like 3~4 years. Next time I upgrade my PC... it will be when Starcraft II comes out.

you should have gone with a future proof computer
That's why console gaming is better. It's more conveinent too. I love my 360 more than my PC.
I am pissed off with my PC too. My next upgrade is going ot be the transition to consoles... I have been a PC gamer all my life. Ive never owned a console before. But C'mon.... whats the frikin point of these constant upgrades??? Cant game developers put some extra effort in their game development (coding etc) and make games run more efficiently on outdated pc's? ohhh.. i forgot. VGA's, Processor's and other latest pc hardware are SPONSORS for games right....
Keep in mind that PC's are not gaming machines primarily. PC's are production machines. They risk longevitypower with the benefit of versatility. As for upgrades, sure many upgrades come out but wait till they are fully adopted by game makers before you buy one. Just cause wireless mice were invented doesn't mean you have to buy it. Just cause Ageia made that stupid physics thing doesn't meen you have to buy the chip.:)
i hear ya man im in a bind too...im gonna buy a ps3 tommorow but i know bloody star craft II is gonna come out and im gonna be so pissed i wont be able to play it on this laptop...argh
Using a console is less money
Well I last upgraded my comp earlier this year to an old AMD X2 3800+ (old 939 core) and beefed up my card to an ATI X1950XT and I'm still playing most games I want to play on high - Supreme Commander being a big exception cos it still plays with my cpu, I blame the older socket core.It really depends on how smart you are with your upgrades and realise that even if you can't play games on ''SUPERDUPEROMFGTHOSEGFXBLEEDMYEYES'' settings then I think most people will realise that PC gaming will be around for a bloody long time.

Once Supreme Commander and Medival War 2 came out I knew I had to upgrade which sucked but it was the games that forced me into upgrading.
i have never been a major pc gamer. I have always enjoyed gaming on my tv with a playstation controller.
the xbox would be better because at least with the xbox360 you wont ever have to pay for any upgrades then (unless you want an xbox elite)
Quad core processors have been out for a while already, but you wont need them for a long time yet (hopefully). No game yet supports it and probably few will in the future. There's always new parts to get, but you don't have to, just lower the settings. If you are looking for simpleness, buy a 360.
