What do you consider next gen?

It always bugs me that many people always call the current gen, next gen. They are still calling ps3 and 360 next gen gaming consoles, does that mean that the ps2 and xbox are still current gen? What do you consider next gen?
well i guess people don't want to start looking 4 or 5 years into the future already, they're fairly new consoles and not everyone has themWhat do you consider next gen?
This is how I consider it:

Next Gen - Now, or to be (360 was out, but PS3 wasn't, PS3 was next gen, and still is, it will be until PS4)Last Gen - PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, GBA

Past Gen - PS, N64, Dreamcast, SNES, NES, anything made before Last Gen
yeah i agree with comando people just arent ready to look into the future yet. They just want to enjoy there gaming consoles now and in 4 years when they get a little lame they will start callin the ps4,xbox 720,and the dic...i mean wii 2 next gen
360 and ps3 are next gen because many of the people who have ps2's or xbox haven't made the leap to 360 or ps3 yet. So xbox, ps2, and gamecube are current gen, while the ps3, 360, and wii are next gen.
I consider the PS4 and other consoles that will be out in 2010-2011ish 'next-gen'. Heck, I just don't use the term at times like now; it's too confusing, and almost nobody is talking about the next generation of consoles at this point.
Viva Pinata and Condemned, they brought a new style of play to the gaming universe.
~-~Once people stop caring if you have all three then it's current gen. But since people still brag about having one of them I think it's ok for people to call it next gen. Just get over it.~-~
Anything not yet released that would appear to potentially offer a significant change in gaming that currently available products that it would compete with cannot easily match. If it's already available for purchase by the average consumer, then it is by definition most assuredly ''current'' generation.
Many people don't have a PS3 or an Xbox 360, so people like me, will call those consoles ''next-gen''. I'm sure the same distinction can't be made for people who own either of the 2 systems. PS2 is still current-gen because games are still coming out for it, and it's not dead yet.
Ps3,360, and the wii are current gen to me.
