I know why GTA IV was delayed (again)!

Up until now, Rockstar has dveloped the GTA games based on PS2 hardware, then ported them to XB. Now, they're stuck in a contract to release the new one simultaneously on PS3 and XB360. No big news, right?Well, what burns me up is knowing that the only reason the game is being pushed back is that every title released in the ''next generation'' is expected to have some online component, mandatory. I would be fine with Rockstar dropping a single-player GTA IV on PS3 this fall, and then spending 6-9 months to develop an online multiplayer version for XboxLive users to download in the spring. Really, either console could update with extra content at any time. Why does there have to be special content for different consoles? Do they expect people like me, who own both next-gen consoles, to buy two different versions? Simply for some minor differences in the multiplayer experience? I seriously doubt that Rockstar is spending a lot of time developing a unique control scheme that implements the Sixaxis controller...I know why GTA IV was delayed (again)!

or it could be for the fact that the PS3 is hard to develop for. and also the fact that a harddrive isn't standard on a 360. that would have made it easier for them, but they have to develop for the people who don't have a hdd. that along with other development problems they go through makes for a long wait for us. and the differences in the versions are because i believe Microsoft paid them money, and Sony is getting their own extra because they have a good relationship, though I'm not sure on all that.
I think analysts think it is the PS3 version is causing problems.
I think analysts think it is the PS3 version is causing problems.
tbf, that was just one analyst's opinion.......... I'm still not sure how that one comment he made has become law. Rockstar's official statement just put it all down to developmental challenges.

No. Do they want to give you the option? Sure, whynot? If the extra content in the twoversions are different enough, gamers will be forced to buy both versions to get the best of both worlds. Kind of cruel, but that's how I see it.
